За что этому каналу спасибо. Предприятие Auchroisk Distillery, на которой стали производить виски Singleton Dufftown, начало свою работу в 1974 г.
И серебряная ачивка нам говорит, что виски не выдающийся, но в целом норм. Пожалуй единственное, что в Акентошане не как у остальных в Шотландии, это тройная перегонка, которая больше характерна Ирландским дистиллятам. Что касается выдержки, то это бочки из под бурбона и хереса.
Но как мне кажется, хереса там совсем чуть-чуть, его совершенно не ощущается в запахе и он едва-едва проявляется сладостью во вкусе. Познакомился я с этим виски совершенно случайно - после долгой прогулки в не самую комфортную погоду заскочил в первый попавшийся бар хлопнуть что-то согревающее, выбора в меню практически не было и я решил что вот он момент попробовать что-то новое. И это был чрезвычайно удачный выбор, так как Акентошен идеально подходит на роль виски, который можно "хлопнуть" без эстетского смакования. Теперь о самом напитке: Аромат: Лёгкий цитрусовый аромат с нотами ванили и кислинкой зеленого яблочка.

Идея понравилась, осталось только найти шотландца из одной весовой категории. Недолго думая я выбрал Deanston Virgin Oak. Да всё просто. Тут также не торфяной виски, которой выдерживался в той же комбинации бочек, только в другом порядке. Да и по своему возрасту они достаточно близки. Про оба виски я уже написал подробно в отдельных материалах, и, не затягивая, приступлю к их битве. Фото сделано автором По цвету паритет, тут сравнивать смысла нет.
Нос Nestville Single Malt Ровный, сладкий с нотками ванили, фруктов, печёных яблок, пряных специй, дуба, леденцов и нот картона. Держится хорошо, без особого развития, и не сильно упрощается. Deanston Virgin Oak Ровный с нотками трав, фруктов, ванили, пряных специй, дуба, а также покрытых воском яблок с маслянистым характером. Ароматика можно сказать паритет. Здесь нет отрицательных нот.
Для меня это хороший пример того, что если не иметь стереотипов и слепого преклонения перед шотландским виски, то всегда можно найти интересные релизы в других странах, даже в тех, которые кажутся экзотическими для этого напитка. Но повторюсь, это моё мнение, я сделал его для себя, никого ни в чём уговаривать и убеждать не собираюсь. Если что-то не нравится, то лучше не брать, чтобы потом не разочаровываться. И как всегда главные вопросы: нужно ли его брать и стоит ли он своих денег. И здесь ответы очень просты. Если есть сомнения в том, что этот виски вам нужен - то его не стоит брать, можно будет легко разочароваться. И если вы не можете позволить купить виски по указанному ценнику, то он явно не стоит своих денег для вас. Всё равно после третьей рюмки уже запивать приходится, а потому толку нету. Лучше с Колой мешать, самое то. Спиртяга user-jh1wi9ut3w васят хороший вискарь хоть т ь и нашь user-kw8og1rd7e Сидит типа сомелье, чего то умничает...
Послевкусие: Очень быстро исчезающее солоновато-горькое послевкусие. Если подвести некоторый итог, то можно сказать что виски сбалансированный - всё приятненько, но одинаково не солидно для 12ти лет. Что аромат, что вкус, что послевкусие. С другой стороны, ценник для 12ти лет ниже среднего, по сравнению с другими представителями этого возраста. На моей полке этот виски занял нишу "хлопнуть и закусить хорошо перчёным куском мяса". Разбирать аромат, смаковать и растягивать этот виски не особо хочется, поэтому по завершению бутылки Акентошан 12 уступит своё место либо своему собрату, но без выдержки - Акентошан Американ ОАК, либо ещё более простому McLelands, так как переплачивать за выдержку в данной нише нет смысла, а на более высокую ступень 12ти летка Акентошана не тянет. Я брал по акции за 2.

Уж так повелось, что принято делать подарки не по содержанию, а по цене. Вот не люблю я виски, но волею судеб, периодически дарят их мне. Вроде бы,возьми и подари хорошую водку.

Что мне понравилось,так это размер. Нормальный, мужской такой. Крепость 40 градусов.

Дело в том, что последние 7-8 месяцев выдержки в маленьких бочках действительно радикально улучшают его вкус, делают его более нежным и бархатистым. Фенольность по-прежнему присутствует, она никуда не делась. Если вы выпьете этот виски вечером, то утром дымно-торфяной привкус ещё будет во рту, хотя наверное не так сильно как после такого же количества Лафройг 10. Также улучшению вкуса способствует отсутствие холодной фильтрации и крепость, приближенная к бочковой. Отрицательные же отзывы происходят оттого, что изначально к этому виски предъявлялись неверные требования или имелись о нём ложные представления. Скорее всего люди сперва пили Лафройг 10, а потом купили Лафройг QC, представляя его себе наверное таким же как "десятка". Но это несколько иной виски.
