He was once engaged to two women at the same time; Jacqueline Kuster, a German imprisoned on drug charges; a Punjabi woman who fell in love with Charles after reading the book on him. Sobhraj is also known for his provocative choice in lawyers. Reportedly, the assassin had met Charles before the incident, and together, they plotted the assassination.
